Dubai VOLNA

Task

VOLNA is a beauty salon in Jumeirah, Dubai, created as a premium space for complete care and recovery.

The interior is designed as a counterpoint to the fast pace of the city. It sets a calm atmosphere that helps guests switch off, easing outside tension and inviting a slower rhythm.

Dubai has a clear separation between men's and women's spaces, so the main focus was a women's area that feels comfortable for guests from different cultures and backgrounds.

A key task was to bring the main beauty services together: cosmetology, hair care, manicure and pedicure, along with private rooms for individual treatments.

A special place is given to a Russian banya, a rare feature in Dubai that has become the salon's main attraction. It hosts steam sessions, bathing rituals and body wraps.

VOLNA is a premium space with an authentic experience hidden inside. A restrained, elegant interior becomes the shell for a traditional Russian banya. This contrast creates a unique blend of contemporary Dubai luxury and a living tradition.

Guests do not simply receive treatments here; they can slow down and fully recover.

Solution

The space unfolds as a gentle, intuitive sequence of movement. Guest and staff circulation is organised as one system, and the two flows never cross.

Despite the dense programme, the interior keeps its lightness. Symmetry, arched forms and precise proportions create a sense of air and depth.

The banya, designed in a traditional Russian style, contrasts with the main interior and gives the project its distinctive character.

Here the materials shape the mood. Boldly veined marble and a refined beige palette, with delicate blue accents in the entrance area, create an enveloping, tactile environment.

Brass details and carefully tuned lighting are an essential part of the composition. Light is used as a tool: it brings out textures and lets guests see themselves accurately in the mirror.
